Mr. Rategan has more than 10 years of advisory experience in the consumer product/retail sector, and leads Clear Thinking Group’s Business Development initiatives. He partners with senior management teams and company stakeholders to perform business enterprise diagnostics in order to identify and solve complex strategic, operational and financial performance related issues. Mr. Rategan has worked with a broad spectrum of consumer product/retail companies and brands, including apparel, footwear, grocery, pharmacy, luxury and consumer electronics. He is also a trusted partner to many leading private equity sponsors and alternative asset managers who invest in consumer product/retail companies and brands. Mr. Rategan provides value across the investment life cycle, including merger & acquisition due diligence, integration planning and dispositions. He has also advised technology start-ups focused on solutions for the consumer product/retail sector.
Prior to joining Clear Thinking Group, Mr. Rategan was Vice President of Business Development for 2 divisions of Hilco Global, the world’s largest retail advisory, valuation and asset disposition firm, as well as an investor in retailers and iconic brands. Jim began his career in the Asset Management Division of Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
